Technologists with qualifications and training from Universities, Colleges,
Neurophysiology Departments and laboratories in countries other than Australia can apply
to the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations to have the educational
level of their formal qualifications benchmarked against the Australian Qualifications
Framework."

Neurophysiology Departments and Laboratories throughout Australia have differing
requirements of training and qualifications for their employees. It is best to contact an
employer directly for their specific requirements.
Membership
The Association of Neurophysiological Technologists of Australia (Inc) have four (4)
levels of Membership which allow for differing levels of education and training, and those
gained in countries other than Australia. These are:
1. Full Member
Full Membership can be given to persons working in the field of Neurophysiological
Measurement in Australia.
2. Accredited Member
An Accredited Member must hold a minimum Science degree. They must have one (1) year
practical experience and achieve a practical level of competence deemed by ANTA in
accordance with the Community Service and Health Training Australia (CSHTA):
Qualifications Framework, Health Training Package unit of competence "Perform
EEG" and "Provide Care and Maintenance of Neurophysiology Equipment".
3. Honorary Member
Honorary Membership may be conferred on persons distinguished in the field of
Neurophysiological Measurement whom the Association desires for services in connection
therein.
4. Associate Member
Any member working in the field that does not hold the minimum qualifications required for
Full Membership. This is the usual grade for those working in allied health areas and in
the field of Neurophysiological Measurement outside Australia.
Associate Members may be, at the discretion of the Association, persons who are interested
in furthering the aims and objects of the Association and who wish to receive the
literature and attend the meetings of the Association. This shall include Company
Representatives. |
