ANTA is a National professional Association which was established to meet the needs of individuals employed as Neurophysiology Technologists in hospitals and Neurologist's private room's across Australia.

Its goals include:

  • ensuring that a system of training exists for Neurophysiology Technologists.
  • providing a forum for the exchange of opinions and ideas relating to Neurophysiology.
  • promoting public knowledge of Clinical Neurophysiology measurement techniques and related investigations.

ANTA offers an Australia wide network of professional support, with advice and information on employment and locum positions nationally.

Workshops are held as often as possible by Members in their local area to allow ample opportunity to meet other Neurophysiology Technologists in the state, and to exchange ideas amongst Technologists in the Neurophysiological field. Presentations are often incorporated in the workshops where experts in the field present topics in their various areas of interest.

ANTA conferences provide an annual venue for Technologists to meet and discuss interesting cases and topics, as well as an exciting social program for Technologists. The Annual General Meeting for the Association is held during the Conference. Conferences rotate around some of the capital cities of Australia.

ANTA publishes a Journal which is sent out to all members of ANTA. It includes some information on the latest developments in Neurophysiology equipment and supplies, and contains articles and case studies from all members of ANTA, from trainee Neurophysiology Technologists to experienced supervisors. All members are encouraged to contribute and articles vary from complex technical presentations to more light hearted comments relating to the Association.
